MU students on the home stretch

December 01, 2008 @ 04:48 PM

HUNTINGTON — After a week off for Thanksgiving break, students return to class Monday for the home stretch of the fall semester.

The last day of class and the last day to completely withdraw is Tuesday, Dec. 9, but “dead week” starts Wednesday, Dec. 3. No new assignments should be given to students, as university officials want students to use extra time to study for final exams.

Wednesday, Dec. 10, is study day, although classes held at 3 p.m. or later can give exams. Most exams start Thursday, Dec. 11, and continue through Tuesday, Dec. 16.

For post-baccalaureate students, Friday, Dec. 5, is the last day for thesis/dissertation defense.

Other important dates:

Saturday, Dec. 6: First convocation ceremony for December graduates

Wednesday, Dec. 17: Residence halls close at noon

Tuesday, Dec. 23, through Thursday, Jan. 1: University is closed
