Former youth worker charged with sex abuse
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A former employee at a Louisville home for abused youths has been charged with sexually abusing two boys at the center.
The Courier-Journal reports that 32-year-old Julio Rijos Jr. was arrested Tuesday for having sexual contact with two boys at Brooklawn Child & Family Services.
Rijos, of Sellersburg, Ind., was being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $10,000 cash bond.
The center’s president, David Graves, says Rijos was dismissed at Brooklawn in September over attendance issues. Graves says Brooklawn wasn’t aware of any abuse allegations at that time.
A police citation says Rijos was in a position of authority when he had sexual contact with two boys, one 12 or 13 and the other 17. The citation doesn’t give a time frame.
