US: W.Va. landlord took drugs for rent
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — A 46-year-old Huntington man who admitted accepting heroin and prescription painkillers in exchange for rent has pleaded guilty to distributing oxycodone.
The government says Jerry A. Lowe entered his plea on Monday. His sentencing was scheduled for June 24 in U.S. District Court.
Prosecutors say Lowe admitted that he received heroin and painkillers from two men who have since been sentenced to prison terms on drug charges.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says Lowe could be sentenced to 20 years in prison and fined up $1 million.
