WVU website provides info on accreditation process
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia University wants the school community to be informed about the accreditation process ahead of next year’s campus visit by an accrediting body.
The university said Monday that it has created a website providing information on the accreditation process. The website also offers advice to the WVU community on how to be involved in this process.
The Higher Learning Commission’s reaffirmation of accreditation visit is set for April 7-9, 2014. The visit will include formal meetings, open forums and informal conversations with faculty, staff, students, administration and alumni.
Provost Michele Wheatly says in a news release that she hopes the website will raise awareness of the importance of accreditation and of the accreditation process.
The website’s address is accreditation.wvu.edu .
