Five arrested in South Point drug raid
SOUTH POINT, Ohio — Heroin, cocaine and five arrests were taken Wednesday night from a house in South Point, Ohio, according to a press release issued by the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.
The raid focused on a residence along Township Road 1025. It came as part of an ongoing investigation into heroin, cocaine and oxycodone pills being sold in the area.
The release identified those arrested as Asim McCoy, 32, of Huntington; Jerome Yancey, 32, of Huntington; Joseph Whaley, 22, of Ironton; Benjamin Willis, 32, of South Point; and Amee Pyles, 28, of South Point. Each were taken into custody on charges of drug trafficking, drug possession, drug abuse and various active warrants.
Investigators seized undisclosed amounts of heroin and cocaine, along with $2,800 cash and two firearms with ammunition. They also found drug paraphernalia, including hypodermic syringes.
