Two arrested following raid in South Point area
SOUTH POINT, Ohio _ Two people were arrested after the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force served a search warrant Wednesday night at the Southern Hills motel, according to a news release.
John Stafford, 45, of the 2200 block of Liberty Street, Ashland, was charged with trafficking in drugs.
Steven Conley, 23, who was staying at the motel, also was charged with drug trafficking. He also was served with an arrest warrant on a charge of robbery in the South Point area earlier this month, according to the release.
Authorities seized 132 oxycodone pills, nine Xanax pills, various drug paraphernalia and $466 in cash.
Participating in the raid with task force members were Ironton police, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
