Power outages in eastern Ky. drop to 3,068
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Power says customer outages in the far eastern part of the state caused by remnants of superstorm Sandy are down to 3,068.
The utility says the number is down from a peak of about 12,000 customers who had reported outages by noon on Tuesday from strong winds and wet snow.
Letcher County had the most outages on Wednesday morning with 1,541.
Pike County reported 1,175 customers still without power and the number of Knott County customers without power had been reduced to 352.
