May 27, 2009 @ 12:38 PM

HUNTINGTON — The Cabell County Public Library and its seven branches are getting ready for its annual summer reading program.

This year’s program is called “Be Creative @ Your Library.” It will explore the worlds of music, dance, art, books and more.

The summer reading program is open to children birth to young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, reading programs such as “Battle of the Books” and other educational activities available for all ages. A summer reading log is available any of the library locations.

Studies have shown that children who participate in summer reading programs improve and retain their reading skills.  The program starts June 9 and ends Aug. 4.  For more information call the main library at 304-528-5700 ext. 141.
