W.Va. lawmakers fix, return 11 vetoed bills to Manchin
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia’s Legislature has revived all 11 House bills vetoed by Gov. Joe Manchin during the recent regular session.
Meeting in extended session Wednesday, lawmakers heeded the governor’s veto messages and corrected errors in the measures before sending them back for his approval.
One remedied bill would expand the state’s drug-free workplace program to county and local governments. Another adopts federal law changes regarding mental health care insurance coverage.
A third makes it a crime to supply false information about a limited liability company to the Secretary of State’s office.
So far, the Senate has fixed five of its nine regular session bills vetoed by Manchin because of technical flaws. Those are now before the House.
