Rally for Recovery set for Friday
HUNTINGTON -- The Healing Place of Huntington will commemorate Addiction Recovery Awareness Month during its 4th Annual Rally for Recovery from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the center.
The rally will include free family-friendly food and entertainment. There will be performances from Tracy Anne Stanley and Mystic Mountain Blueberry. The event is open to the community.
A recovery meeting will follow the event.
The Healing Place of Huntington is a long-term residential program of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. The substance abuse recovery center for men is located at 2425 9th Ave.
The center currently contains 30 beds, and organizers are in the process of renovating the center and simultaneously raising funds to make the center accessible for up to 100 participants at a time. A women's recovery center also is in the works.
The non-medical detox and residential recovery program is free of cost to participants.
The Healing Place is a nonprofit organization that relies on grants and charitable donations for funding.
