Marshall Alumni Association offers activities for Virginia Tech weekend

HUNTINGTON -- The Marshall University Alumni Association is offering a number of activities for Thundering Herd fans heading to this weekend's football game at Virginia Tech.

Several activities are scheduled both Friday and Saturday.

Friday's activities:

A golf tournament at the Draper Valley Golf Course in Draper, Va. The cost is $300 per team or $75 per person. It is limited to 20 teams. All proceeds go to the Sam Stanley Scholarship. Registration is at 11 a.m. Tee time is at noon. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

A day spa event at Body Balance Spa, 1997 S. Main St. #604, in Blacksburg, Va. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Email to set reservations at booking@bodybalancespa.biz or call 540-449-3035 for more information.

Wine tasting at Attimo Winery, 4025 Childress Road, Christiansburg, Va. The cost is $10 per person. Call 540-382-7619 for more information.

Marshall University Fan Party is set for 6 p.m. to closing Friday at Macado's, 510 East Main St., in Radford, Va. Wear your green and party with all your Marshall friends. There will be music, dancing, food and drinks.

Saturday:

Prior to the Herd's noon kickoff versus Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium, the Alumni Association will have a tailgate party beginning at 10 a.m. The cost is $25 per person and includes two drink tickets. It will be on the tennis court beside Cassell Coliseum. For reservations call 304-696-5428.
