Book signing at Huntington bookstore tonight
HUNTINGTON — Author Dwight Harshbarger will sign copies of his historical fiction novel, “Witness at Hawks Nest,” at Empire Books in Pullman Square in Huntington, from 7:15 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9.
Issued under the Mid-Atlantic Highlands imprint of Huntington-based Publishers Place, the novel recounts the deaths by silicosis poisoning of over 700 workers who were digging a hydroelectric tunnel for Union Carbide in the early 1930s.
Harshbarger, now an adjunct professor of community medicine at West Virginia University, has been featured on numerous radio, TV and magazine outlets in West Virginia.
