In Ironton, College Goal Sunday starts at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at Ohio University Southern. on Sunday, Feb. 14.

College Goal Sunday is a day for high schoolers and their families to gain insight into the federal financial aid system.

West Virginia’s College Goal Sunday will take place Feb. 21.

In Huntington, Marshall Community & Technical College will host College Goal Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the MCTC Main Building at 18th Street and 3rd Avenue.

Lincoln County High School and the MU Mid-Ohio Valley Center in Point Pleasant also will be host sites.

This event is an opportunity for students and parents to have financial aid experts provide free assistance in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the cornerstone of the higher education financial aid application process.

The FAFSA is a crucial first step for all college students who plan to pay for college with the help of grants, scholarships, work-study funds and/or student loans.
