Dec. 05, 2012 @ 06:59 AM

FRAZIERS BOTTOM, W.Va. — U.S. 35 remained closed early morning Wendesday, forcing a detour upon motorists traveling a major thoroughfare in Putnam County, W.Va.

The accident involved two, tractor-trailer trucks at a share curve near Shamrock Lane where U.S. 35 transitions from a two-lane to a four-lane highway.

Motorists traveling U.S. 35 are being detoured along W.Va. 817, a parallel route, between the Buffalo Bridge and Hurricane Creek Road. There was no word on when the major thoroughfare might reopen, according to Putnam County 911.

The accident happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday. Dispatchers said the trucks were hauling box-style, freight trailers.
