Baby Jesus statue found
HUNTINGTON -- Police recovered a stolen decorative baby Jesus statue at 4th Avenue apartment on Thursday afternoon.
The statue was defaced, according to police.
The statue was found after a Huntington man came forward to Huntington Police Detective Chris Sperry Wednesday evening claiming he had stolen the statue just before 1 a.m. Friday from a Nativity scene at building in the 1100 block of 5th Avenue.
The Nativity scene is set up in front of a building which serves as the administrative offices for McDonald's restaurants in Ashland and the Huntington area, and local McDonald's operator, Tom Wolfe told The Herald-Dispatch earlier this week he believes a minimum of 40 hours community service would be an appropriate punishment.
