'The Needle's Eye' to be presented in September
ASHLAND -- "The Needle's Eye," a dramatic production with music, scripted by Lynn Schemed and adapted from the classic, Jesse Stuart book, "The Thread That Runs So True," will be presented next month at three locations in Ashland and Greenup County.
The story is about Stuart's struggles as a young teacher as he worked to make a living and positively impact his community through education.
The shows are scheduled at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Paramount Arts Center for local schools, at 9 a.m. and at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, and at the John P. Stephens Cultural Arts Center for local schools and at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, at the Greenbo Lake Ampitheatre.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors. Preschoolers are free.
The performance is made possible by the Greenup County Extension Arts Council, the Jesse Stuart Foundation, Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet and the Paramount Arts Center.
