Wayne County Fair offers plenty to do
WAYNE — The Wayne County Fair runs from Wednesday, July 28, to Saturday, July 31, at the Huntington Police Farm on W.Va. 152 north of Wayne.
Admission is $7 per day, with children under 3 free. Admission includes carnival rides. There will be checkers, clowns, face painting, horseshoes and cornhole games daily. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the shows.
Here is a schedule:
Friday, July 30
4 p.m. gates open.
6 p.m. Gospel music featuring The Primitive Quartet and Highway 316.
Saturday, July 31
8 to 11 a.m. 4-H livestock show
11 a.m. Children’s games, featuring a greased pig contest; sack race; banana eating contest; bubble gum blowing; Pepsi drinking contest; three leg race; egg toss; watermelon seed spitting; and nail driving contest.
5 p.m. Gospel singing featuring The Singing Cookes, The Good Shepherd Quartet and Gospel Heritage.
Horseshoe tournament followed by a cornhole tournament.
