Community Hospice plans volunteer fair
ASHLAND -- Community Hospice will host a volunteer fair from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at its office, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland. The fair is open to the public, particularly those interested in becoming a Community Hospice volunteer. Light refreshments will be served.
Volunteer opportunities include in-home respite care, caregiver time out, emotional support and visitation, nursing home visits, companionship and reading, bereavement support, spiritual care, running errands, delivery drivers, office clerical work and more.
The fair is being offered in conjunction with the upcoming volunteer orientation session scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 30 through Nov. 1.
