Halloween activities set at Huntington Mall

Oct. 27, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

BARBOURSVILLE -- The Huntington Mall has Halloween activities planned, including a costume contest at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Center Court, and trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29.

The costume contest is a free event with prizes for the following age categories for best costume: 0-3; 4-6; 7-11; and 12 and up. All contestants will go home with a goody bag just for participating. Decorating the stage will be the pumpkins from the mall-wide pumpkin decorating contest.

The trick-or-treat event is called "Truck or Treat," and is being put on with the help of the Huntington High School theater group and Turnpike Ford. Kids are asked to dress up and bring a nonperishable food item for a chance to trick-or-treat at the center court of the mall. Turnpike Ford hopes to fill a truck with food for the Huntington Area Food Bank.
