Car bashed as part of MU homecoming events

Purchase this photoHUNTINGTON -- WMUL-FM held its annual car bashing fundraiser Wednesday on campus. The event is part of homecoming week, with proceeds helping to fund the radio station.
Additional homecoming activities are planned for Friday as Family Weekend also starts. There will be a free picnic from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, on the Memorial Student Center Plaza as part of Green and White Day.
Family check-in starts at noon, with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Drinko Library atrium, where parents can meet deans and other leaders from Marshall.
There also is a champagne welcome reception sponsored by the Marshall University Alumni Association and Black Alumni Association from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Marshall University Foundation Hall. Cost is $25 per person.
Saturday's schedule includes the 5K Alum Run, breakfast with President Stephen Kopp and the homecoming parade. The football game kicks off at 3:30 p.m.
