Festival draws thousands with new attractions

October 06, 2012 @ 12:35 AM

MILTON — It was another day of pumpkins, pageantry and peddling at West Virginia Pumpkin Park, where the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival continued into its second day.

It was the second day students from area schools could take advantage of a "School Day" at the festival, which featured a variety of activities for students, who were eligible for a discounted admission rate.

New to the festival this year is The Wall That Heals, a half-scale traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The memorial will remain open following the closure of the Pumpkin Festival at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7.

The festival continues from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. For more information, visit www.wvpumpkinpark.com.
