Students celebrate spirit during dance

Oct. 07, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- South Point High School students were dressed to the nines and ready to celebrate their school spirit Saturday night following a 41-6 homecoming victory over Rock Hill High School on Friday.

The dance comes the day after students had an entire school day dedicated to homecoming festivities including a seniors vs. juniors volleyball game, a powderpuff football game and "Homecoming Olympics," said SPHS Principal Jayshare Shah.

"We always just hope they have fun, but, of course, it has to be controlled fun," Shah said. "It is always very nice to have alumni come back for homecoming, and to see alumni band members and cheerleaders participate with our current students is very special."
