Ala. teenage murder suspect captured in Huntington

HUNTINGTON — A 17-year-old murder suspect from Jacksonville, Ala., was captured early Friday morning in Huntington, according to West Virginia State Trooper W.G. Hash.

The juvenile suspect was arrested about 1:45 a.m. in Marcum Terrace. Hash said local authorities received from a be-on-the-lookout alert about 11 p.m. from Alabama. It included specific locations about the suspect’s possible whereabouts.

The West Virginia State Police and Huntington Police Department joined efforts. Local officers staked out positions at each location. The suspect was arrested within three hours of the alert.

The juvenile was processed at the State Police Huntington detachment, arraigned at the Cabell County Courthouse and transported to the James H. “Tiger” Morton Juvenile Center in Dunbar, W.Va.
