Injuries reported in four-car accident on Interstate 64
BARBOURSVILLE -- Emergency crews responded to a four-car accident with multiple injuries along Interstate 64 near Barboursville. A fifth car allegedly fled the scene.
The accident occurred at mile marker 19 westbound on I-64. Early reports indicated one woman had to be extricated from her vehicle because her legs were trapped, and a 16-year-old girl had suffered a broken arm.
The accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m.
It was reported that a fifth car with rear-end damage left the scene of the accident before authorities arrived.
The accident snarled traffic, as it occurred near the ramp from the Huntington Mall onto westbound I-64. Dispatchers reported cars were trying to turn around and take the ramp back toward the mall, heading into traffic trying to get onto I-64.
