Marshall rated most polite fans in C-USA

HUNTINGTON -- Visitors say Marshall University fans are the most polite in its conference while West Virginia University are the most rude in a Sports Illustrated College Football Conference Poll.

The poll looks at each college football conference and asks readers to rate the schools on different questions. Marshall was first in "Which school has the most polite fans for visitors?" with 29.7 percent voting in favor. The next most polite C-USA team was Rice at 17.1 percent. In the same category, WVU ranked sixth in the Big East with 8.2 percent. Connecticut was first at 28.6 percent.

When asked "Which school has the rudest fans for visitors?" WVU topped the Big East list with 34.9 percent followed by Pitt at 25 percent. Marshall was 10th in C-USA version of that category with 3.3 percent. UCF topped the C-USA category with 29.7 percent.

WVU did top its conference in "What is your favorite stadium to visit in your team's conference?" The university received 23.2 percent followed by Pitt at 19.5 percent. Marshall tied in the C-USA category with Memphis. Both schools received 14.6 percent.
