HUNTINGTON -- Police have identified a retired surgeon as the man who died Thursday afternoon trying to stop his runaway vehicle atop Summit Drive in Huntington's Southeast Hills neighborhood.

Dr. Seyed Hossein Hadisadegh, 73, of Huntington died shortly before 2 p.m. at his residence near the intersection of Summit Drive and Ridgewood Drive, said Huntington Police Cpl. Gary Queen.

Investigators determined Hadisadegh's wife had just arrived home and exited their minivan when it began to roll down their steep driveway toward Summit Drive, Queen said.

Hadisadegh, who had been home waiting for his wife to arrive, immediately tried to stop the vehicle. Queen said those efforts ended with his body getting stuck under the minivan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
