One injured in shooting
HUNTINGTON -- Huntington Police detectives are investigating a shooting that was reported at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Officers responded to the shooting in the 1800 block of 11th Avenue, where they found Joshua L. Lapsley, 27, with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, HPD Detective John Willams said in a press release.
Lapsley told police two men fired several rounds at him "for no reason" while he was on 19th Street between 10th and 11th avenues, said Williams.
Williams said Lapsley appeared to have been drinking, and he gave officers different versions of events. Detectives had found no evidence of a shooting in the area described by the victim, Williams said.
Lapsley was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
