Smith’s contributions to historic preservation of the area include several articles in “The History of Lincoln County” and the writing and publishing of a quarterly community newsletter, The Ranger Ripples.
Smith also has collected and recorded information about local cemeteries in Ranger and nearby communities.
The award will be presented at 3 p.m. at the Lincoln Heritage Festival. Smith will also speak about the county’s civil war veterans.
