Armstrong employees break bread with community
SYBENE, OHIO -- Local cable broadband company Armstrong set out for its employees to "Break Bread" Thrusday afternoon.
The employees weren't necessarily spreading the wealth amongst themselves during a company-sponsored cookout at the company's offices near the Lawrence County Airpark. They were taking it a step further by reaching out to the community with the company's Breaking Bread initiative.
Employees and community members alike paid $5 each for lunch provided by A.J's Pig Pickin' of Milton, that will go toward Armstrong's Breaking Bread initiative, which works to feed the hungry in the communities that the company serves.
Employees and those communities donate food, money, time and effort to combat hunger year-round, and Armstrong hosts several fundraising events throughout the year.
Breaking Bread works with 19 food banks in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. Anyone can become involved in the initiative by dropping off food at a local Armstrong location or any Armstrong community event.
