Barboursville Civil War Days: This year, the weekend event commemorating the Battle of Barboursville, which occurred on July 14, 1861, was held in early May so the many re-enactors wouldn't have to face the July heat in their heavy uniforms and antebellum dresses. The weekend usually includes a parade, battle re-enactments, encampments, night firing and more. The 2014 date has not been announced yet. Visit http://barboursville.org.
