You might call this a renaissance in Huntington.

Although this hard-scrabble town has had its share of difficulties and disappointments as industries dry up and leave -- and a lot of the population follows -- what remains is a core of hard-working, entrepreneurial, optimistic individuals who love Huntington and want to see it succeed.

This desire is being manifested as a surge in small businesses in the formerly struggling downtown area; efforts to support local artists and artisans and showcase their work at Heritage Station; and an overall push to beautify the city and strengthen community ties.

Whether you're new to the area, or you're a lifelong resident who could use a refresher on what makes the "Jewel City" dazzle, turn the page to Discover Huntington.
