Huntington in Bloom announces photo contest

HUNTINGTON — Huntington in Bloom is conducting a photo contest as part of America in Bloom, a national beautification competition.

Photos will be accepted in several categories, such as best street, best trees, places of worship in bloom, best business, best yard and best public space.

The first category of the photo contest is best blooming street. Photos will be accepted between April 26-May 9. The winner will be announced May 10. Photos in other categories will be accepted later this spring and summer.

Contestants are encouraged to submit photos of efforts to beautify the city’s streets, sidewalks and alleys, and can include photos of litter clean-up efforts, graffiti removal and flower plantings.

To be eligible, all photos must be submitted to the Huntington in Bloom Facebook page, www.facebook.com/huntingtoninbloom. Photos will be judged based on how well they illustrate the goals of Huntington in Bloom. Photos must be taken in Huntington.
