Photo winner announced for Place of Worship in Bloom
HUNTINGTON -- The Herald-Dispatch reporter Bryan Chambers is the winner of the Huntington in Bloom's Place of Worship in Bloom photo contest.
Chambers, who will receive a gift certificate from 21 at the Frederick restaurant, was recognized for his photo of the Walnut Hills Church of the Nazarene.
The next category to be judged in the Huntington in Bloom photo contest is Best Bloomin' Yard, which will be accepted through Thursday, June 20. Contestants are encouraged to submit photos of flower plantings, landscaping, and trees. To be eligible, all photos must be submitted to the Huntington in Bloom Facebook page, www.facebook.com/huntingtoninbloom. Photos will be judged based on how well they illustrate the goals of Huntington in Bloom. Photos must be taken in Huntington.
Other upcoming contests include between June 22 and July 5 photos of flower plantings, landscaping, signage, graffiti removal, and other cleanup efforts of area businesses may be submitted in the Best Bloomin' Business category. The contest wraps up with the "Best Bloomin' Public Space" category showcasing plantings, landscaping, and clean-up efforts of public parking lots and other public spaces. Photos may be submitted between July 5 and July 12.
Photos in other categories will be accepted later this summer.
Several local businesses have donated prizes for photo contest winners, including 21 at the Frederick, Bottle and Wedge, Common Ground, Savannah's Restaurant, and The Red Caboose.
