MU upgrades email system for students
HUNTINGTON -- An upgraded student email system at Marshall University will result in more available services and an easier, single sign-on system for student accounts.
The new system, powered by Microsoft Office 365, will go live on Monday, July 15. The upgrade will not impact faculty and staff using the university-hosted Outlook/Exchange email.
Marshall has been part of the Live Mail program with Microsoft since 2010. Microsoft has since discontinued the Live Mail service and replaced it with Office 365. Some of the features of Office 365 are improved email and calendaring, web conferencing, instant messaging, file storage and sharing and team websites. Not all of the new services will be available immediately but will be in the near future.
Students using mobile devices to connect to their email will need to update their credentials and log in with their MUNet username and password. If they don't do this, they will not automatically receive email on their phones. Students who do not know their MUNet credentials can visit www.marshall.edu/munetlookup to get their usernames and reset their passwords. Their email address will remain the same.
