Nine promoted in ROTC ceremony
HUNTINGTON -- Nine cadets in Marshall University's Army ROTC Thundering Herd Batallion were promoted during a commissioning ceremony on May 9 in the Memorial Student Center on campus.
Brig. Gen. Russell Crane served as the keynote speaker of the event. Crane is the assistant adjutant general and Joint Task Force commander of the West Virginia National Guard.
The cadets who were promoted, listed with their new rank, were 2nd Lt. Vishnu S. Valluri, 2nd Lt. Calvin G. Kelly IV, 2nd Lt. Aaron E. Rhodes, 2nd Lt. Alexander C. Perdue, 2nd Lt. Matthew P. Lee, 2nd Lt. Sean A. Lucas, 2nd Lt. Abigail S. O'Connell, 2nd Lt. Benjamin P. Miller and 2nd Lt. Dennis R. Mayo.
Lt. Col. Cloyd D. Lilley is the commander of the Thundering Herd Batallion.
