DUI simulation aims to curb drinking and driving

Apr. 14, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

The goal of one event Wednesday on Marshall University's campus was to help participants see clearly after trying to maneuver a vehicle in DUI goggles.

The event was hosted by the Marshall chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions, or SADD, on Buskirk Field, where students who tried on the goggles had the chance to get behind the wheel of a Marshall Police Department golf cart.

SADD is a student-based organization with a mission to provide students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with the serious issues they are facing, according to the group's website.

SADD promotes a message of "No Use" of alcohol and all other drugs and encourages students not to participate in activities with destructive consequences.
