MU faculty member named W.Va. Public Relations Educator of the Year
HUNTINGTON -- Terry Hapney Jr., an associate professor of Public Relations at Marshall University, was recently named the West Virginia Public Relations Educator of the Year by the state chapter of Public Relations Society of America.
Hapney, who is an alumni of Marshall's program, was honored at the Crystal Awards gala in Charleston.
Hapney, who graduated from the University of Dayton in December with his Ph.D., also was recently published in the scholarly, peer-reviewed journal "Education Law Journal." His research focused on student newspapers in the United States and the adversarial relationship between student journalists at public universities and university administrators.
He also holds a master's degree in journalism from Marshall and a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Kentucky.
