Mountwest announces new board members
HUNTINGTON — Two new members have joined the Mountwest Community & Technical College Institutional Board of Governors (IBOG).
New members are Cathy Burns of Huntington, who was recently named as the new President of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, and James Kaul of Proctorville, Ohio, a Mountwest student.
Prior to the Chamber of Commerce, Burns served as the Workforce Development Recruiter for the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI) for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing. She was appointed to the IBOG by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin. Her term runs through June 30, 2016.
Kaul is a sophomore at Mountwest and is studying engineering technology. He was elected President of the Student Government Association and thereby serves as the student representative on the IBOG through June 30, 2014.
Additionally, current member Mark George is now serving as the Vice Chair. The College has a total of 12 board members.
