Students cited for underage drinking
The following information was provided by the Marshall University Police Department:
UNDERAGE DRINKING: Five students were cited in two incidents early Saturday morning on campus for underage drinking.
The first incident was in a dorm room in Twin Towers West at 12:13 a.m. Officers responded to report of possible alcohol consumption in the residence halls and found six people in the dorm room. Four were under the age of 21 and cited for underage consumption. A 24-year-old person was cited for providing alcohol to minors. The other person was determined not to be involved.
The second incident was about two hours later in the 400 block of John Marshall Drive. Police observed a man stumbling and stopped him. The 18-year-old man had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcohol. He was cited for underage drinking and obstruction, because he initially lied about his age.
