MU student reports a stolen purse
The following information was provided by the Marshall University Police Department:
PETIT LARCENY: A student reported that sometime between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Dec. 5, someone entered their vehicle while it was parked in the 1800 block of 3rd Avenue and took a purse containing a cellphone, earphones and textbook.
PETIT LARCENY: An employee reported that sometime between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3, someone entered their office in Gullickson Hall and took a cellphone and binder.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: A 19-year-old woman was cited for possession of marijuana after police responded to a smoke alarm on the ninth floor of Twin Towers East at 12:15 a.m. Friday.
UNDERAGE DRINKING: Officers pulled over a driver in the 1900 block of 3rd Avenue at 4:03 a.m. Friday after observing the driver take a wide turn and hit the curb. The driver, a 19-year-old man from Hurricane, failed three field sobriety tests and was charged with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, no insurance and underage consumption of alcohol.
LARCENY FROM VEHICLE: A student reported that sometime between Friday and Monday, someone entered the unlocked passenger door of their vehicle while it was parked in Gibson lot and took a GPS and $10 in cash and coins.
PETIT LARCENY: A student reported to leaving two textbooks in a study room in Drinko Library from 9:20 to 10:40 a.m. Tuesday to attend class. Upon returning, the books were gone.
