Home health agency named in top 100 set
COAL GROVE, Ohio -- The job being done by the 60 home health agency employees at Abbott Home Care has been recognized by the 2012 HomeCare Elite.
The home health agency, which serves clients in Lawrence, Scioto, Gallia, Jackson and Vinton counties, has been in business for 10 years.
Abbott Home Care was named in the top 100 home health agencies out of more than 11,000 in the country, according to a press release from the national group.
"We're very proud of this," said Paulette Klaiber, a registered nurse and co-owner of the agency with Anna Malone. "It's special. We've been one of 250 agencies to be on the list for the past seven years. We have good patient outcomes."
The home health agency has offices in Coal Grove and in Jackson, Ohio, Klaiber said.
"We saw a real need for these services," Klaiber said Monday. "We have a great staff. A number of our nurses have a lot of experience. Many of them worked at River Valley Health Systems." The Ironton hospital closed more than a decade ago, leaving some 400 people out of work.
Some of them found jobs with Abbott Home Care, Klaiber said.
HomeCare elite has ranked the top home health agencies for the past seven years; Abbott Home Care has been recognized during that time, said Kevin Meenach, a local marketing manager. "Abbott has been recognized for their focus on patients and their concern for patient care," he said.
Klaiber and Malone credit the Abbott's focus on quality of care through its specialty programs focused on the needs of the patient for the agency's ability to achieve the ranking, according to the release.
