About America in Bloom
America in Bloom is an independent, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to promoting nationwide beautification programs and personal and community involvement through the use of flowers, plants, trees and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements.
Cities are judged in eight categories with cities of similar size on an annual basis. Volunteers and city crews can participate in the program. Communities are judged from May through August.
The local community pays the costs for one-to-three nights lodging for two America in Bloom judges and provides them with transportation when they're in town.
