Ky. man hurt as car overturns

SUMMIT, Ky. -- A Greenup County man sustained severe injuries and had to be life-flighted to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington after his car overturned and came to rest on its top in a creek along Ky. 5 two miles west of Summit, according the Boyd County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was identified as Bryan T. Collins, 32, of Argillite, Ky., according to the release.

The accident in the 7100 block of Ky. 5 was reported about 2:30 p.m. Friday. The vehicle veered off the right side of the road and went over an embankment, according to the release.

Collins had to be cut out of the vehicle by members of the Summit-Ironville Fire Department.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time, according to the release.
