Scioto man charged with drug trafficking
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- A Portsmouth man was arrested Thursday night on a drug charge, according to a news release from the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force.
Robert K. Clemens, 58, of the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue in Portsmouth, was arrested at his home about 7:15 p.m. Thursday by task force members and Portsmouth police, according to the release.
Clemens was arrested based on an indictment issued earlier by the Scioto County grand jury. He was charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine.
Following a search, officers seized suspected crack cocaine, suspected Xanax pills, marijuana, digital scales, more than $2,800 in cash, a firearm and additional evidence of drug trafficking, according to the release.A One Direction Card that had not been issued to Clemens also was seized.
Clemens was placed in the Scioto County Jail pending an appearance in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.
Additional felony charges will be forwarded to an upcoming grand jury.
