Burlington church to honor pastor of 38 years

BURLINGTON -- The members of the First Baptist Church of Burlington celebration of the Rev. Dr. Douglas C. Carter's 38 years of faithful service, continues Sunday.

On Sunday, Nov. 8, Pastor John Morgan from Dallas, Ga., will deliver the message at 11 a.m. Dinner will be served following the service. At 3 p.m., members of the congregation and choir from Triedstone Baptist Church of Gallipolis, Ohio, will help celebrate Rev. Carter in worship and in song. Triedstone Baptist's pastor, the Rev. Melvin Freeman, will deliver the afternoon message.

The church invites former members and sons in the ministry to join them on this special day.

Getaway UMC hosting rummage sale Nov. 7

GETAWAY, Ohio -- Getaway UMC will host a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, in the church's fellowship hall.

There will also be baked goods and hot dogs for sale.

Church sponsoring Fish Fry Dinner on Nov. 7

IRONTON -- The Trustee Board of Quinn Chapel AME Church, 715 Adams St., Ironton, is sponsoring a Fish Fry Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the church.

Dinners will be $7.50 and will include fried fish filets, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, bread, dessert and soft drinks. Those purchasing dinners are welcome to eat in the church social room, or dinners can be prepared for carry out.

Dinners will be served from noon to 3 p.m.

Chesapeake church offers weekly worship

Big Branch Church invites all to worship

CHESAPEAKE, Ohio -- Big Branch Church, located on Big Branch Road in Chesapeake, Ohio, invites everyone to attend Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. this Sunday, Nov. 8, and stay for morning worship at 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Randy Henderson preaching. Sunday evening worship service begins at 6 p.m., with Pastor David Viars preaching.

Worship service is also held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 with Pastor David Viars preaching. Kids for Christ for ages 4-12 and Christians on the PROWL for the Teens at the same time.

Burlington church invites women to group meeting

BURLINGTON -- The Burlington United Methodist Church, located at 7353 County Road 1, invites women of the neighborhood, from other churches, and family and friends to join its ladies ministry.

Outreach ministries are being planned locally.

The group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the church's fellowship hall. The church is located in the S-curve behind Lowe's, and the fellowship hall is immediately next to the church.

Sunday school begins at 9 a.m. for all ages. Worship is at 10:45 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. Children's church is also held at 10:45 a.m.

On Wednesdays, Bible study is at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

The church is led by the Rev. Dr. Scott Mann, pastor.

Church extends invite for weekly worship

SOUTH POINT -- The First Baptist Church of South Point, 101 Solida Road, South Point, invites all area residents to worship.

Music and worship led by Fred Pack and Sharon Ison begins at 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, with Sunday school 9:30 a.m.

On Wednesdays, Bible study will begin at 7 p.m., with special classes for children and teens.

Baptist church offers worship, Sunday school
