Police: South Point woman reports $11K in items stolen
The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff's Department reports:
BURGLARY: A 42-year-old South Point area woman reported last week that someone stole jewelry, $700 in cash and several weapons. The items were valued at $11,650.
BURGLARY: A 32-year-old Ironton area woman reported Saturday that someone broke into her residence in Elizabeth Township and stole two shotguns, two muzzle-loaders, a revolver and a compound bow. The items were valued at $1,550.
BURGLARY: A 64-year-old Proctorville area man reported last week that someone stole prescription medication, assorted old coins and silver dollar certificates. The items were valued at $1,120.
SHOTS FIRED: Sheriff's deputies arrested a 44-year-old Catlettsburg, Ky., man on charges of having weapons while under disability and improper transportation of firearms and transported him to jail last week. Arrested was John Francis Wright of the 3800 block of Marsh Hill Drive.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: A 62-year-old Ironton area woman reported last week that someone stole an air compressor, tools, a battery charger, a generator and a pressure washer. The items were valued at $3,550.
ARSON: A 61-year-old Ironton area woman reported last week someone set a single-wide trailer on fire in Upper Township. The damages were estimated at $25,000.
BURGLARY: A 36-year-old Proctorville area man reported last week that someone broke into his residence and stole miscellaneous food, about $10 in change, a cell-phone charger, sleeping bags and blankets.
PROBATION VIOLATION: Sheriff's deputies arrested Melissa S. Massey, 25, of Ohio 141, Ironton, on felony charges of vandalism and domestic violence and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest last week and transported her to jail.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: A 50-year-old Chesapeake area man reported last week that someone stole scrap metal from a barn in Union Township. Deputies arrested Carl Sibert, 29, of County Road 1, Chesapeake; Larry Eddy, 30, of the 100 block of Elizabeth Street, Proctorville; and Jeremy B. Slone, 30, of Willow Street, Chesapeake, on a charge of breaking and entering.
THEFT: A 19-year-old Proctorville area woman reported last week that someone stole jewelry valued at $1,200 in Rome Township.
