Defender United Methodist Church to host revival Oct. 16-19

CHESAPEAKE -- Defender United Methodist Church, County Road 3 (Old Ohio 7) at Bradrick, Chesapeake, will host a revival from Oct. 16-19.

St. Ann Catholic Church offers RCIA classes

CHESAPEAKE -- St. Ann Catholic Church, in Chesapeake, is conducting RCIA classes from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday.

Adults (non-Catholic, inactive and active Catholics) are invited to attend and learn more about the Catholic church. The purpose of the program is to follow the path of Jesus.

Beaver new pastor at First Baptist Church

SOUTH POINT -- First Baptist Church, 101 Solida Road, South Point, announces the addition of new pastor Daniel Beaver, who assumed duties as Pastor on Sept. 16.

All members of the community are invited to come to services to meet Beaver and learn more about the church. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages. Sunday Morning Worship is at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday evening prayer and Bible study begin at 7 p.m.

Quakers invite all to worship each Sunday

HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Friends Worship Group (Quakers) invites everyone to attend a silence-based, Christ-centered worship each Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Little Chapel (directly above the main lobby) at St Mary's Medical Center, 2900 1st Ave., Huntington. "Be still and know that I am God, a time of spiritual refreshment and renewal," is the only program. Inquirers and spiritual seekers of all ages and from every background and tradition (or no particular background) are always welcome.

Big Branch Church announces new program

CHESAPEAKE -- Big Branch Church, 2072 County Road 31, Chesapeake, announces a new Sunday program called "Sunday in SYNC" -- Seeking Others, Yielding to God, Nurturing Youth, Challenging All.

The program, which began on Sept. 11, is at 10 a.m. Sundays, with age-appropriate groupings for children, teens and adults.

Family worship begins at 6 p.m. on Sundays. Wednesdays at 7 p.m., Big Branch offers adult small-group studies, Kids 4 Christ, and Christians on the P.R.O.W.L. for teenagers.

Beulah Baptist Church offers variety of services

ROME TOWNSHIP -- Beulah Baptist Church, the little country church in the heart of Rome, located on the corner of Beulah Lane and County Road 107, invites the community to come and experience a growing church.

Sunday School for all ages is held at 10 a.m. each week. Lorretta Carrico is the lead children's teacher, while Mike Allen leads the adult Sunday School class.

Sunday Worship Services are held at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Junior Church for children younger than 12 and a nursery for children younger than 5 are provided during the morning service.

The AWANA program is offered on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. for youth ages 4 and older. Kenny Gillespie is the youth director. Adult Bible study also is offered at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

Ministry hosting trips to Italy, Greece

SOUTH POINT -- South Point Nazarene Church Extended Tourism Ministry is hosting a 15-day trip to Italy and Greece From June 11-25, 2012.

The trip includes airfare; transportation; accommodations; meals; and 10 sightseeing tours led by a full-time tour director.

The trip will include stops in Venice, Florence, Pisa, Assisi, Rove, Vatican City and Pompeii. Participants will also take a night ferry across the Adriatic Sea to Greece to tour six cities, including Athens.
