Five arrested in Ohio drug raid
SOUTH POINT, Ohio -- Five people were arrested on drug charges and active warrants Wednesday night in the South Point area, according to Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney Brigham Anderson.
Members of the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force and sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Township Road 1025 about 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release.
Arrested on various charges from drug trafficking, drug possession, drug abuse and active warrants were: Asim McCoy, 32, of Huntington; Jerome Yancey, 32, of Huntington; Joseph Whaley, 22, of Ironton; Benjamin Willis, 32, of South Point; and Amee Pyles, 28, of South Point.
Authorities seized heroin, cocaine, digital scales, hypodermic syringes, drug paraphernalia, more than $2,800 in cash, two firearms and ammunition, according to the release.
The seized narcotics are being sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Identification for analysis and exact weights, according to the release.
