11 Ironton sixth-graders rank high on annual academic test

IRONTON -- Eleven middle school students in Ironton will be honored on May 9 for their performance on the 2013 Eddy Test.

The test is administered each year by the Ironton Child Welfare Club to the top 25 percent of sixth-grade students from Ironton Middle and St. Lawrence Catholic schools. This year, 32 students took the test, which was given on Feb. 20 at the Ironton Middle School.

The Eddy test was established by the Child Welfare Club 52 years ago to identify students who had attained top academic achievement in the sixth grade.

The 2013 Eddy Award winners are:

Raegan Crabtree, daughter of Sami Fields-Bollinger and Bobby Crabtree

Kylie Deer, daughter of Brian and Lori Deer

Aaron Eastham, son of Carolyn and Aaron Eastham

Alaina Kelley Gleichauf, daughter of Dr. Carl A. and Laura K.Gleichauf

Isabella Griffiths, daughter of John and Colleen Griffiths

Loralei Griffiths, daughter of John and Colleen Griffiths

Daly King, son of Amanda Harmon and Jason King

Kaylie Jean Rase, daughter of P.D. and Beth Rase

Trey Ward, son of Duane and Kristi Ward

Ethan Michael Wilson, son of Sarah Wilson and Eric Wilson;

Tanner Ryan Wilson, son of Greg Wilson and Paulette Moore.

The winners will be honored with a banquet at 6 p.m. May 9 in Ohio University Southern's Mains Rotunda.
