McKinley Chapel offers rummage sale April 27

PROCTORVILLE -- McKinley Chapel United Baptist Church will have a rummage sale from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on April 27 in the parking lot of Dr. York's dentistry office, 650 3rd Ave., Chesapeake.

Rummage items will include everything from clothing to furniture. There will also be a bake sale. Proceeds will benefit the church building fund.

'Heaven is Real' series underway at CUMC

CHESAPEAKE -- Chesapeake United Methodist Church Pastor Chuck Case is offering a five-week video and discussion series based on the bestselling book "Heaven is for Real," beginning Sunday, April 14.

"Heaven Is for Real" is the true story of a 4-year-old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who says he experienced heaven during emergency surgery. The book previously was a New York Times best seller and is No. 4 on the April 2013 Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Best Seller list.

The series is offered at 11:15 a.m. following worship each Sunday at the church, located at 501 2nd Ave. in Chesapeake.

Beulah Baptist begins Max Lucado study series

PROCTORVILLE -- Beulah Baptist Church of Proctorville invites the community to a new Sunday school series of lessons. "We Are All Part of the Cast" will be taught by Mike Allen and is based on Max Lucado's "A Cast of Characters." This Bible study for adults will take place during April.

Kevin and Lorretta Carrico lead the children's Sunday school. There are classes for all ages.

Sunday morning worship begins at 11 a.m. A children's church is held for children ages 4-11 and a nursery is available for younger children. Dr. Kevin Bloomfield is the pastor.
